Mayor Westmoreland, TO THE WEST THERE IS MORE LAND! You can't make up the irony here. Our valley is the last place that Utah County has space to grow. Unfortunately we DO NOT currently have sufficient infrastructure even PLANNED to support it. The 2018 Eagle Mountain General Plan estimated that by 2030, Eagle Mountain's Population would be 54,095. As of the 2023 Census, our population was 56,932! And we have all seen the high density housing going up the past two years! What is our population now? What will it be in 2030?! Drop the multi-million dollar plans for a grandiose downtown, we can't even get people to it! I feel like I am getting a bit sassy but I swear this all should be common sense. We get drowned in our 100 page plans, wonderful on-paper ideas, and we forget about the basics. With me as your Mayor, the basics will be served first, and then with our surplus and extra energy we will do the "fun stuff". But until all of our residents have sufficient roads, water, and power, stop the madness.
Whoever wins the election this fall, needs to make the Eagle Mountain Highway a Priority in 2026.
The Eagle Mountain Highway will provide the infrastructure we need to be able to continue to grow into the largest city in Utah County.
